Micronutrient blending accurate to the gram – on a grand scale
When working with micronutrients it is essential to ensure gentle handling of the substances, exact adherence to the formulation and absolute safety and reliability of the process. The Stern-Wywiol Gruppe has decades of experience in manufacturing compounds of active substances in the form of fine powders. SternVitamin benefits from this know-how. We have one of the most modern compounding plants for high-quality micronutrients, vitamin mixtures and mineral premixes in Germany. This high-tech facility in Wittenburg was commissioned in 1998, and its capacity is constantly being enlarged. The easy-to-clean plant now has three separate, fully-automatic blending lines and several pilot lines for different quantities and products. This enables us to handle throughputs of 100 to 6,000 kg an hour. A pharmaceutical-type container blending plant in a new, completely separate area of the factory was completed in 2008. A sophisticated quality system accompanies the production process from beginning to end.
Outstanding features of our production plant for micronutrient premixes in Wittenburg
Feeding station for sacks and Big Bags: This is where the active substances and their various carriers are fed in through funnels without causing dust. These substances are then ready for further conveyance by a suction weighing system. The feed funnels are fitted with suction filters, and a vibrating floor ensures that the material is withdrawn reliably and dosed evenly into the pneumatic conveyor systems.
Pneumatically filled dosing containers: These dosing containers are placed on the STERN Component Station as required by the formulation. This automated system for small quantities, designed by us, weighs concentrates of active substances automatically and accurately to the gram. Frequency-regulated dosing screws pass the substances on to extremely precise small-component balances, where they await automatic conveyance by the suction weighing system.
Special suction weighing systems: The suction weighing systems fill the blenders with carrier materials from the feeding funnels as well as the concentrates of active substances. This suction technology makes it possible to combine a very large number of components with different grain sizes and physical structures in the compounder and then blend them homogeneously.
